What Is Word Made?
Word Made is a free online word finder and anagram solver designed for players of Scrabble, Wordle, Words With Friends, crossword puzzles, and other word games. Enter any set of letters and instantly discover all valid words that can be formed — sorted by length and Scrabble point value.
The tool is entirely free, requires no account, and works on any device. It is built for speed: results load instantly from a database of over 290,000 verified tournament-standard words.
Our 290,000-Word Database
Every word in our database is sourced from official Scrabble tournament dictionaries and verified against tournament-accepted word lists. The database covers:
- All valid 2-letter through 15-letter words accepted in official Scrabble play
- Words verified from TWL (US/Canada) and Collins Scrabble Words (SOWPODS, UK/International)
- Correct Scrabble point values calculated per tile according to official letter scores
- Word definitions sourced from standard reference dictionaries
The database is maintained and updated to reflect the most current accepted word lists used in competitive play.
How Our Word Finder Works
When you enter a rack of letters, Word Made performs a fast dictionary lookup that:
- Generates all valid letter permutations and sub-combinations from your input
- Matches each combination against the full 290,000-word verified dictionary
- Returns only valid, tournament-accepted words — no made-up combinations
- Calculates and displays the Scrabble point value for each result word
- Groups results by word length for easy scanning
The advanced search also supports wildcard patterns, filters by starting letter, ending letter, or containing specific characters — covering the most common tournament and puzzle scenarios.
Our Dictionary Sources
TWL — Official Tournament and Club Word List (North America)
The standard word list for Scrabble competition in the United States and Canada, sanctioned by Hasbro. TWL is the official reference for all North American Scrabble tournaments.
Collins Scrabble Words (SOWPODS — UK & International)
The word list used in international Scrabble competitions outside North America, sanctioned by Collins. SOWPODS contains all TWL words plus thousands of additional words accepted in UK and international play.
Our tool draws from both lists to give the most comprehensive coverage for all players regardless of region or game variant.
