How to Use the Advanced Word Finder & Scrabble Solver

Welcome to the Advanced Word Finder—the ultimate tool for Scrabble, Words with Friends, Crosswords, and word game players. Whether you need to solve complex tile combinations, find high-scoring bingo words, or attach your rack tiles to existing letters on the game board, our advanced search engine delivers instant results filtered by your exact criteria.

Supported Word List Dictionaries

To ensure maximum accuracy for your specific game rules, our tool interfaces with four specialized database tables:

  • 1. Universal All Words (Default List - new_words):

Our flagship standard English dictionary database containing hundreds of thousands of valid terms. Ideal for general word discovery, anagram solving, crosswords, and vocabulary learning.

  • 2. Scrabble US Word List (scrablleus):

Based on the Official Tournament and Club Word List (NASPA / TWL / NWL) used in North America (United States & Canada). Perfect for official US tournament Scrabble matches.

  • 3. Scrabble UK Word List (scrabbleuk):

Powered by Collins Official Scrabble Words (CSW). Used across the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and international WESPA tournament play.

  • 4. Words with Friends List (wordswithfriends):

Tailored specifically to Zynga's Words With Friends official lexicon (ENABLE dictionary). Ensures all suggested words are 100% playable in WWF games.

Understanding the Advanced Search Filters

Combine multiple filter inputs to pinpoint valid words for any game board scenario:

🔤 Rack Letters & Wildcards

Enter up to 15 letters from your tile rack. You can use up to 3 wildcards or blank tiles by typing ?, *, or pressing the Spacebar.

▶️ Starts With (Prefix)

Filter words that begin with specific letters (e.g. AP finds words starting with AP like APRICOT or APPLE).

⏹️ Ends With (Suffix)

Filter words that terminate with particular letters (e.g. ING or ED) to hook onto existing board tiles.

🎯 Contains & Pattern Gaps

Find words containing sequences. Use an underscore _ for gaps (e.g., R_C matches APRICOT).

📏 Word Length Restriction & Smart Fallback

Restrict searches to exact word lengths (e.g., 7 for 7-letter words). If no exact matches are available, our smart algorithm provides high-scoring fallback words built from your available rack tiles so you never walk away empty-handed.

Understanding Result Color Highlighting & Point Values

Every word badge in the search results displays its calculated game points in superscript and color-codes letters for quick visual parsing:

  • Green Letters: Represent board constraint letters (from Starts, Ends, or Contains inputs).
  • Black Letters: Represent exact matching letters taken directly from your rack.
  • Red Bold Letters: Represent blank tiles or wildcard substitutions (? / *).
